Manasa Bhajore Guru Charanam
Dustara Bhava Sagara Taranam
Guru Maharaj Guru Jai Jai
Sai Natha Sat Guru Jai Jai
Om Nama Shivaya, Om Nama Shivaya, Om Nama Shivaya, Shivaya Nama Om
Arunachala Shiva, Arunachala Shiva, Arunachala Shiva, Aruna Shivom
Om Karam Baba, Om Karam Baba, Om Karam Baba, Om Namo Baba
As you may have guessed, this is traditionally a mantra to Shirdi Sai Baba, which was primarily adopted by Satya Sai Baba devotees. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Satya Sai, so I debated whether to record this. I am, however, a big fan of Shirdi Sai Baba, and when I started to write a few months ago, out it came, so here it is.
The words mean roughly we should chant (bhajore) with our minds (manasa) on the feet (charanam) of the guru, who takes us safely across the ocean of life and death. Guru, great Lord, victory to you! Sai Nath, our true teacher, victory to you! The verse lines refer to Shirdi Sai Baba's aspect as Shiva: we bow before Shiva, Shiva who resides on the mountain Arunachala, and before Sai Baba, whose form is OM.
I am still getting to know this mantra, still finding its internal meaning for me. It seems to insist on coming into my mind, so I believe it holds something for me yet, and I hope it holds something for you, too!
Namaste!
